River country for U.S. Fremont called
Platte River by its Oto name -Ne-brath-
meaning flat water, leading to later
fedral application of that name to this
territory. Fremont sold his mules & wagons
by auctions at Bellevue with the assistance of
Peter Sarpy, before returning to St Louis.
