Parley P. Pratt writes: "I continued to
minister in the Temple night and day 

with my Pr [priesthood] and the rest of the [12] until
early in February.
     "Soon after, I closed things, the mini-
strations in the Temple ceased, and Pr Y] and the rest of the quorum and
many others bade farewell to their
homes in the beloved City of Nauvoo
and crossed the Mississippi River, with
 their families, and such teams and
Wagons, as they could get, they form
ed an encampment on Sugar Creek, in
the state of Iowa."

2 Jan 46] persons received endowments in
the Nauvoo Temple. At 6 a.m. the High
Council, High Priests, and Seventies met i
n their several quorums on prayer.
Tues. Jan 6
     Traveled 13 miles and worked in a creek
bottom and finished a bridge.
Three P.M. Elder W.R. LD Young John D.
Lee and pres Young rode on to a branch of
the Nishnabotna River where Bishop George
Miller and company were encamped and
engaged in building a bridge.
The main camp arrived at 5 o'clock
 p.m. HCK camped 3 miles back to prevent
 our stock from mixing.
