continuing upon the second bottom or bench lands, we crossed Moor's Creek, Mill Creek and Glover's Creek, and
reached the City of De Soto, distant from Omaha 19 miles and from the Platte 33 miles. In January 1859 the road
 report reads: "The first grading done was a side cut
along the bluff banks three miles north of the Platte
River and near Papillion Creek bridge of about one-half mile in length at a cost of about $250. ..
Three more bridges were built between the Platte
River and Omaha, & two more between Omaha & Florence
to bridge sloughts and mires Heavey  raines  in 1858,
 however swept away at least six of the and number being seven in 1859. The road was at last in 1857 bridges on 200 miles of road to the mouth of the Nisbara which had to be replaced."
